Second Harvest Partner Charities

Second Harvest works in partnership with 112 Partner Charities from the very small to the very large to help those at-risk for hunger in our community. Some operate soup kitchens or food pantries. Others include shelters, and nonprofit organizations that serve meals or distribute food packages as a supplemental programs.

Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio welcomes all qualified nonprofit community food programs to become a part of our network. Our member programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and supplemental programs throughout a four-county region including Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain.

Become a Partner Charity

Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio welcomes all qualified non-profit community food programs to become a part of our network. Our programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and supplemental programs throughout a four-county region including Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain.

Partner Charities may apply who have had a food program in operation for a minimum of six (6) months prior to submitting an application. Proof of existence could include:

  • 6 months of dated food distribution sign in sheets
  • 6 months of dated volunteer work schedules
  • 6 months of food receipts
  • 6 months of time-stamped advertising i.e. social media posts, e-newsletters, bulletins

New Partner Charity Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis as they are received. To be considered for partnership your organization should submit the following information:

  • Proof of existence for a minimum of six (6) months
  • A current list of board members or trustees
  • A copy of your 501(c) 3 Letter of Determination or Affirmation Letter from the IRS or equivalent fourteen (14) articles for churches.
  • Your organization's DUNS number (included in application)
  • A completed Partner Charity Application
  • Partner Charity Application
  • Signed Partner Charity letter of agreement (included in application)
  • Signed TEFAP/USDA & OFPACP letter of agreement (included in application)

Second Harvest encourages organizations to consider the following needs in the community before starting a food program.

Does your feeding program:
  • Reach a rural or otherwise underserved area or population?
  • Serve more than once a month?
  • Aim to serve at least 50 households or meals on the day of service?
  • Offer additional services to meet the needs of the community?
  • Serve on the weekends or in the evening?
