We celebrate National Volunteer Month in April, which highlights the impact volunteers have on our lives and encourages active volunteerism in generations to come. They generously donate a part of their lives to do the work that helps us advance our mission of Growing Hope.
It is only right that we shine a spotlight on the Volunteer Relations Department that works day in and day out with these volunteers. They work to guide and direct our volunteer corps and individuals as they perform the many duties volunteers fulfill in service for Second Harvest.
Jenny Lynch, Volunteer Relations Manager, oversees the department; Shozo Kawaguchi, Volunteer Engagement Specialist, coordinates and trains volunteers at distributions and coordinates special projects like the Senior Food Box delivery program; Hannah Brown, Volunteer Project Specialist and Caitlen Cameron, Repack Assistant, both help volunteers who work at the warehouse sorting product and packing boxes for distribution. This month, we salute our staff and all of our volunteers for their unwavering service to creating pathways to nutritious food.
