Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio capped off the 40th anniversary year of serving the community by putting on Drive-Thru Thanksgiving Mobile Pantries in each of the four counties we serve.
In total, we served more than 3,200 families by distributing 205,993 pounds of grocery staples and holiday food, but more than anything, we offered Hope. We wanted to be there for our community when they needed us. Here are comments from community members at each of our Thanksgiving Mobile Pantries:
“This impacts me so much. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feed my kids for Thanksgiving. This definitely helps me a lot.”
- Holly, Elyria
“If it weren’t for Second Harvest, we probably wouldn’t be having turkey for Thanksgiving. I am raising my grandchildren and only able to work three days a week. The food is great!”
- Francine, Sandusky
“Food is really expensive right now. If it wasn’t for this, we probably wouldn’t have a Thanksgiving dinner. This is a big help.”
-Roger, Willard
"It's going to help our family tremendously through the holiday season. It’s been a rough year. We love the work Second Harvest is doing. We appreciate all the help."
- Christine, Sheffield Lake
