Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio was recently named one of the 2023 Best Employers in Ohio. The annual list was created by Best Companies Group in partnership with Crain’s Cleveland Business.
“We are honored to be named one of the best employers in Ohio,” said President and CEO Julie Chase-Morefield. “Our employees work hard to support our mission and provide food for so many in our community. We want to make sure they feel valued and appreciated every day.”
Some of the perks of working at Second Harvest include floating holidays, employee appreciation programs, paid parental leave, and volunteer/community service hours. This is in addition to their standard benefits, including paid holidays, vacation/personal time, medical/life/disability insurance, SEP retirement plan, and an employee assistance program.
To be considered for Best Employers in Ohio, companies had to participate in a two-part survey process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Ohio, analyzed the data, and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
The rankings of the 2023 Best Employers in Ohio were unveiled in a special supplement produced by Crain’s Content Studio-Cleveland and published in Crain’s Cleveland Business on June 12.
