Who else loves fall-time squash? Do you know how to cook it? Polly Leland, SNAP Outreach and Nutrition Coordinator for Second Harvest, conducted a free class at the Main Branch of the Lorain Public Library in October. There were eight people registered for the three-part class. Polly prepared four squash varieties for tasting. She demonstrated how to cook butternut squash and apple cider salad, and class members got to practice their own cooking skills with help from Polly, who is a holistic nutritionist. This family-friendly event was FREE and the first in a series of three hands-on programs for the community.
Join us for our cooking class series every first Tuesday of the month starting in March at the Lorain Public Library Culinary Literacy Center. Register at www.lorainpubliclibrary.org.
