Advocacy Creates Pathways To Nutritious Foods

Advocacy Creates Pathways To Nutritious Foods

Over the past year, we have seen the need for emergency food assistance surpassing the numbers from the height of the pandemic. The continued high cost of living has affected everyone, but some are impacted more than others.

This has led us to question:

  • How can we improve access to nutritious food while collaborating with partners to address underemployment, transportation and housing?
  • How can we elevate community impact of policy decisions to legislators at the local, state and federal level to help our neighbors?
  • Can we provide opportunities for passionate community members to talk about solutions?

Second Harvest hosted community roundtables in each of our counties during the spring to start conversations and build partnerships to grow hope in our communities. These open and honest discussions were inspiring and provided valuable insight that will allow us to become a better partner across our region.

We look forward to our next community roundtables in October and invite you to join the conversation.
