A Note from Julie

The challenges we’ve faced individually and collectively in 2020 will remain etched in our memories for a lifetime. But as the new year begins, 2021 can mark a time for the hope, the kind that comes with a new beginning. The lessons gained from 2020 are varied, but for us at Second Harvest, we believe one is the recognition of how much we need each other.

As an organization we have deep gratitude for every dollar donated, every hour volunteer and every thank you shared. Over the past year nearly 150,000 unique individuals received food through a local food pantry or a drive-thru mobile pantry. Thank you for being part of this collective effort to feed our community. We remain grateful for the support of the Ohio National Guard soldiers and airmen who have done so much for our community. Without their tireless effort we would never have been able to respond so fully to meet the needs of those who rely on us.

Our pandemic response remains on-going as we embrace the challenge of outside food distribution in a cold Ohio winter. So many families are still reeling from the pandemic and we are committed to being there as a source of food, supplies and hope as we navigate together through these uncertain months ahead.

Our hope is as we coming through the winter month into the spring, and on the other side of the pandemic, we can once again be together as a community to rebuild.
